The Athena Montessori Children's Program started its journey in 2018 with humble beginnings, welcoming just two children in a cozy home setting. Since then, our growth has been remarkable. Over the years, we have continually enhanced our facility and offerings to create a nurturing and educational environment for children aged 18 months to 6 years.
Contact UsAthena Montessori Children’s Program boasts a skilled staff certified by New York State and trained in early childhood education. Our teachers, with Montessori certifications and experience, excel at fostering creative and independent thinking in children, making learning fun and enjoyable.
Athena Montessori Children’s Program facilities are designed to inspire and engage young minds. Our spacious, naturally lit classrooms have various Montessori materials to support hands-on learning. Our outdoor play areas offer a safe and stimulating physical activity and exploration environment. Daily activities are thoughtfully planned to foster independence, creativity, and a love for learning. Children enjoy a balanced mix of individual and group activities, including art, music, science, and practical life skills, all tailored to their developmental needs and interests.
At Athena Montessori Children’s Program, we value community involvement and the celebration of special events. We organize a variety of activities that bring together students, families, and staff to cultivate a strong sense of community. Our events include cultural celebrations, seasonal festivals, and community service projects, offering children opportunities to learn about different cultures, develop social skills, and experience the joy of giving back. Through these community engagements, we strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment that extends beyond the classroom.
We are pleased with our son’s progress at Athena. He has learned so much from his teachers including numbers, writing, days of the week and months of the year. Most importantly, I know Mrs H (the owner) deeply cares about ‘her’ kids.
The moment you meet Ms. H you understand the real mission behind a true teacher. I know why her classes were so popular and why students and parents loved her so much. I had the pleasure of being her assistant teacher for one year and I was moved and inspired by her lessons. Her teachings and lessons were the beautiful result of love, devotion, knowledge, patience, trust and determination. She inspired each teacher, each child and each parent to be the best version of themselves and to love every creation on our planet. Ms. H made an impact on my life and I was touched by her gentle traits.
My toddler spent one semester and a summer time here before enrolling in a certified Montessori school in Wilton. I am passionate about Montessori and have done researches on Montessori myself so I know Montessori. The school founder Ms.H is a seasoned Montessori teacher who has her whole life devoted to kids education. I recommend her program if you want a true Montessori education program for your kid but do not want to deal with the tedious procedures or potential lack of attention from teachers you might experience in big Montessori schools. Overall it is a gem in White Plains.
